Privacy policy — no cookies, no tracking.

The short version

This website does not track you. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording and no third-party trackers of any kind. There is one form on the site, and it only sends us what you typed into it, when you press the button.

The price calculator runs entirely inside your own browser. The floor area, project type and options you pick are never sent anywhere. We cannot see them, and no record of them exists outside your device unless you choose to send the estimate to us.

What this website stores on your device

One thing, and it is not personal information: when you close the small banner at the bottom of the page, the browser remembers that for the rest of the visit so it does not reappear on every page. It is cleared when you close the tab, and it contains nothing but the fact that the banner was dismissed.

Your browser will also cache the site's images, stylesheet and scripts, the same way it caches any website you visit.

The one third party

The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. To deliver them your browser makes a request to Google's servers, and that request necessarily includes your IP address and which browser you are using. Google states it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles, but the request does happen and you are entitled to know about it.

Nothing else on this site is loaded from anywhere but our own server. In particular the request form does not go through a form company: pressing send delivers it to our own mailbox and nowhere else.

What you send us, by email or through the form

Everything we hold about a project is something you deliberately sent, either by email or through the request form. Typically that is:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• The project address, and the plan set or drawings
• What has been decided about heating, cooling and water heating

We use it for exactly one purpose: quoting and producing your Title 24 compliance documentation. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or send you marketing you did not ask for.

The request form is not run by a form company. Pressing send hands what you typed straight to our own Google Workspace mailbox, the same mailbox that would receive the email if you wrote to us yourself, and it arrives there as an ordinary email. A copy is kept in a private spreadsheet in the same account so that a request cannot be lost. Nobody is added to that path who was not already in it, the form asks for nothing beyond the fields you can see, and there is no tracking attached to it.

Who else sees a project's information

Producing a compliance report means the project's details necessarily reach a small number of others:

• Your building department, on the signed forms submitted with the permit application
• The compliance registry that the forms are registered with, as California requires
• The independent third-party rater, where field verification applies
• Whoever you tell us to copy, usually the architect, the builder, or the owner

That is the complete list. No advertiser, data broker, lead-generation service or marketing platform ever receives any of it.

How long we keep it

Project records are kept while the project is live and for a period afterwards, because plan-check corrections, revisions and field verification routinely come back months after the report was delivered, and because California requires compliance documentation to be retrievable. If you want your project's file removed after the permit is finalled, email us and we will confirm when it is done.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. This site honours it by default and by construction: there is no tracking here to switch off, and no third party is permitted to track you across other sites from these pages.

Your rights in California

California residents may ask what personal information we hold about them, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and say what you want; there is no form and no fee, and we will not treat you any differently for asking.

We have never sold or shared personal information for advertising, and we do not intend to.

Children

This is a service for building professionals and property owners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection, and instructs your browser to refuse any content that did not come from us. If you believe you have found a security problem with this website, please email [email protected]. The details are also published at /.well-known/security.txt.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
